DAVE CHAPPELLE failed in his attempt to set a new record for comedy endurance – by walking offstage during his performance to go to the bathroom.
The comic took the stage at Hollywood’s Laugh Factory on Sunday, (Oct. 28,) attempting to break the club record for the longest time on stage. But Dave was soon disqualified by owner Jamie Masada for taking a bathroom break.
The current holder of the record is Dane Cook with a seven-hour, 34-minute marathon in 2008. The original record was set by the late Richard Pryor who spent two hours and 41 minutes on stage in 1980. On the other hand, Chappelle did hold the record previously to Cook’s, with a recorded time of six hours.
