Although Dallas’ own Erykah Badu makes sure that she provides her city with regular performances, the real treat occurs when the every blue moon, the Queen of Neo-Soul unleashes her alter ego DJ Low Down Loretta Brown. Iller than any Sasha Fierce, Tunechi or Trigger, this female turntable diva puts on a crowd catching show.
Tru School’s DJ Jay Clipp rocked the crowd first and Dallas’ hottest band The Gritz had the crowd bobbing their heads and singing the chorus of their hit debut single “Summer Boo.”
Soon it was time for Dallas’ finest Low Down Loretta Brown (aka E.Badu) to rock the 1′s and 2′s. If you were lucky, you caught Farnsworth Bentley chilling in the crowd. And later that night, the fellow Rock the Bells concert headliners BlackStar ( Talib Kweli and Mos Def )gave shout outs on the mic and chilled onstage.
